The Kingdom's first virtual cleanup day
Citizens and friends of North Barhant!
The virtual kingdom of North Barhant announces its first-ever virtual cleanup day—a new digital initiative aimed at fostering eco-friendly habits, reducing digital waste, and strengthening a culture of conscious technology use.
Although the cleanup day is taking place virtually, its significance extends far beyond a symbolic gesture.
Modern data centers, which store digital information, consume enormous resources. The more unnecessary files and duplicates millions of users worldwide store, the greater the overall load on servers and the energy grid.
Removing digital waste from personal devices—even if it may be insignificant from an individual perspective—results in a significant reduction in:
- the load on data storage,
- the volume of information transferred,
- the energy consumption of server infrastructure.
Furthermore, regular digital cleanups help extend the lifespan of gadgets, thereby reducing e-waste—one of the most problematic types of waste in the modern world.
The event will take place this coming Saturday and is open to everyone: Barkhant citizens, residents, friends of the Kingdom, and anyone who shares the values of a sustainable future.
What will we be doing?
For 15-20 minutes, participants are invited to:
- Delete unnecessary photos, videos, and documents;
- Get rid of duplicate files;
- Sort through downloaded materials;
- Free up additional space on devices;
- Optimize the digital environment we use daily.
These are simple but important steps that help foster a caring attitude toward digital space and maintain order in the information environment.
Participating in the virtual cleanup does not require registration or special skills.
Simply set aside a little time on the designated date and dedicate it to digital cleanup. Everyone who takes part will become part of a common movement and contribute to maintaining cleanliness in both the virtual and real world.
